 David,
 
 I tried to call to talk to you personally, but couldn't reach you.  Because
 I will be away from my office for the next several days, I thought email
 might be the next best solution.
 
 I am calling for the Western Area Nominating Committee and would like to
 invite you to serve as an area representative to the ABCCR Board of
 Directors.  It is a four year term, beginning January 1, 2006.  The Board
 of Directors meets three times each year, the first weekend in February,
 the first weekend in May and the first weekend after Labor Day in
 September.  The meetings usually begin with lunch on Friday and end with
 lunch on Saturday and are held at Cross Wind Conference Center in
 Hesston.  The Region pays for meals, lodging and a mileage reimbursement
 (not IRS but to cover the cost of gas).  Those who serve on the Board of
 Directors are also asked to serve on one of the six departments of the
 Board:  Local Church Life; Christian Education & Camping; Evangelism &
 Discipleship; Finance & Property; Mission Support and Ministry.
 
 When I was a local church pastor I found my time of service on the ABCCR
 Board of Directors a very rich experience.  It helped me get to know the
 Region and Denomination better and also become better acquainted with the
 resources available to the local church.
 
 Please give this request your prayerful consideration and let me know of
 your willingness to serve by the end of the week.
