This year, I concentrated the lens of my camera more on facial expressions than snakes. While there's a snake in almost every photo, snakes are incapable of exhibiting facial expressions. Humans, however are capable of displaying a large variety of expressions.

Here's an interesting series of photographs of a girl from Ringwood, Oklahoma. Ringwood is 21 miles north of Okeene. As I took photos of the '08 Okeene Rattlesnake Roundup, I observed an interesting transformation unfold. Initially, "Girl in Blue" was reluctant to touch a snake. She was uncomfortable watching others handle snakes, Gradually, however, after her mother and sister handled the snake, the discomfort subsided and she summoned the courage to handle a snake herself.  Enjoy...
